'You came in with the breeze
On Sunday morning
You sure have changed since yesterday
Without any warning.'
No Doubt- Sunday Morning
'Why are you in Clapham?!'
My friend Mae texts me this question as I struggle to get home laden with shopping bags. And that is why I was in Clapham- because it is a charity shoppers dream.
Give me Google Maps and a straight road, and I'll still manage to get lost, so Mae's concern was certainly justified. But I did successfully navigate myself to a good seven or eight charity shops, finding some right bobby dazzlers that I'll share over my next few posts.
These photos were taken this Sunday morning around Islington. I'm very lucky to be living here and I love walking around soaking up the prettiness.
So, let's talk about the clobber. I couldn't resist the jacket with it's neat, cropped length, indigo blue denim, and eyelet detailing. The more eagle eyed reader will notice that I jazzed it up with a cute little guitar brooch. The metallic sparkly heart belt breaks up the blacks and blues, adding a bit of 90s kitsch. The scarf is pretty understated but I was drawn to the border of sparkle along the edge.
The fluffy leopard print hat: perhaps not to everyone's taste but life is too short to avoid sartorial risks. It reminds me of the kind of hat Dionne from Clueless would wear, and obviously I wanted to replicate her levels of sass.
